Ich habe gestern auf ein The Grayzone video repliziert, aber AP und WP Originalquellen verlinkt - ohne auf The Grayzone als Quelle einzugehen, da es bei mir fälschlicherweise mit The Intercept assoziiert worden ist.
Heute bei der erneuten Aufarbeitung bin ich auf deren Wikipedia Artikel gestoßen, der sich liest wie - naja wie soll ich sagen, muss man selber lesen:

Grayzone ist keine Quelle die ich normalerweise nutze und wurde von mir gestern das erste Mal überhaupt im Blog verlinkt. Was ihr reporting wie es vom wikipedia Artikel geframt wird betrifft, bin ich beinahe ausschließlich immer anderer Meinung als The Grayzone als Plattform.
Jetzt isses aber so…
dass in dem Wikipedia Artikel “and [Grayzone] published pro-Russian propaganda during the Russian invasion of Ukraine.[31]” vermerkt ist. Mit der Erweiterung, dass sich Russland in UN Briefings, bereits auf das Reporting der Plattform gestützt habe.

Und das darf man natürlich nicht - auch wenn das nachweisbar der Fall war, und Stoltenberg nun bereits wiederholt als Kriegsgrund Russlands genannt hat, dass Russland keine Nato Erweiterung zulassen wollte. Zuletzt vor zwei Tagen.

Gut, dünnes Eis, aber wir sehen der Wikipedia Artikel argumentiert nicht immer so sauber.
Jetzt ist das aber noch immer ein wenig fadenscheinig dünn… Also was war eigentlich Fußnote 31, “and [Grayzone] published pro-Russian propaganda during the Russian invasion of Ukraine.[31]”?

Beschuldigen ist leicht, also wurde es bestätigt und worum gehts?
Es geht um einen Tweet eines University of Edinburgh academics (Tim Hayward) mit folgendem Inhalt:

Der Tweet ist immer noch online, wir sehen also der Akademiker hat ihn nicht zurückgezogen. Der von ihm verlinkte Grayzone Artikel beschäftigt sich mit folgendem Umstand:
The supposed bombing took place just as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky appealed to US Congress for a no fly zone, fueling the chorus for direct military confrontation with Russia and apparently inspiring President Joseph Biden to brand Vladimir Putin, the Russian president, as a “war criminal.”
A closer look reveals that local residents in Mariupol had warned three days before the March 16 incident that the theater would be the site of a false flag attack launched by the openly neo-Nazi Azov Battalion, which controlled the building and the territory around it.
Civilians that escaped the city through humanitarian corridors have testified that they were held by Azov as human shields in area, and that Azov fighters detonated parts of the theater as they retreated. Despite claims of a massive Russian airstrike that reduced the building to ashes, all civilians appear to have escaped with their lives.
Video of the attack on the theater remains unavailable at the time of publication; only photographs of the damaged structure can be viewed. The Russian Ministry of Defense has denied conducting an airstrike on the theater, asserting that the site had no military value and that no sorties were flown in the area on March 16.
Es existieren keine unabhängigen Quellen, es existiere keine Video Material, die Bilder die extistieren legen nahe, dass der Bunker unter dem Theater nicht eingestürzt ist und zumindest dort niemand ums Leben kam (die Ukraine hat danach Opferzahlen veröffentlich). Soweit stimmts erst mal. Darauf hin der Wikipedia Artikel:

Also suchen wir nach dem Debunking - und Überraschung, es ist nicht nur nicht quellenverlinkt, es existiert auch nicht.

The woman is not identified, and Polygraph.info was unable to confidently trace her whereabouts using visual search or geolocation tools.
Russia has a history of using “actors” in Ukraine to sell stories about alleged atrocities.

Polygraph.info nennt hier also die Quelle (“the Russian Embassy in the U.K. posted a video in which a purported “refugee” from Mariupol spoke on camera about the theater attack.”), The Grayzone nennt sie nicht [schlecht]. Die Überschrift des Polygraph Artikels lautet jedoch: “No Verifiable Evidence of False Flag Attack on Mariupol Theater” - ergo debunkt ist garnichts. Das Problem ist wieder die Quellenlage.
Aber das Problem ist auch die Quellenlage in die andere Richtung, denn in Mariupol waren zu diesem Zeitpunkt keine Journalisten mehr, das letzte Journalisten Team ist ja mit Chernow dank Vladimir dem Handler vom Polizeihauptquartier Donezk Region in einem Hyundai aus der Stadt getingelt.
Gleiches Recht für alle? Dh. fragwürdige Faktenlage, glauben wir lieber nichts? Weit gefehlt, denn wenn Tim Hayward, University of Edinburgh einen bis heute nicht zurückgezogenen Tweet publiziert, dass die Faktenlage dünn ist, dann ist das selbstredend “hoch problematisch”.
Gut, dafür dass hier ein political scientist etwas postet, und nicht zurückzieht hat man hoffentlich mehr Material um den political scientist als unmöglich und mangelwertes Exemplar seiner Zunft zu charakterisieren, nicht? Klar hat man das.
The Times im “er wird beschuldigt” Artikel:

Hayward had previously spread pro-Assad disinformation and conspiracy theories promoted by Russia that claimed video evidence documenting Syria using chemical weapons on its own citizens had been fabricated.
Sagt die Times.
Jetzt is es aber so, dass die Redaktion der Anstalt das ebenfalls getan hat. Im ZDF. Im Jahr 2015. Bezugnehmend auf ein Gutachten eines MIT Researchers das wieder bei The Times niemand gelesen hat.
Was will man machen - wohin man schaut Russenpropagandaisten. An der University of Edinburgh. Bei der Anstalt im ZDF. Und bei the Grayzone.
Frage, wie lange sitzen denn bei The Grayzone schon Russenpropagandisten?
Auch auf diese Frage hat das englischsprachige Wikipedia eine Antwort:

In bin in den beiden Punkten anderer Meinung als The Grayzone.
Ich werde The Grayzone als Quelle nicht mehr nutzen, aber wenn die “Wikipedia Beweisführung” in den Fällen genauso stringent war wie im Ukraine Beispiel -- sind wir wieder bei öffentlicher Verhetzung.
Und die sehen wir ja im Ukraine Krieg zum allerersten Mal…
Diese Gesellschaft ist das absolut grotesk und abartigst Allerletzte.
Trotzdem, mea culpa, und ich werde zukünftig bei meiner Quellenauswahl achtsamer sein -- auch wenn ich im konkreten Fall zum Glück auf AP und die Washington Post als Originalquellen runterverlinkt habe - also eigentlich aus dem Schneider bin, und mir dieses Posting hier nichtmal hätte antun müssen.
